Is raw milk safe and is it good for you?
We think that it depends. People obsessively buy into both sides of the story. But it is probably the detail that matters most for health.
- Is raw milk from an industrial dairy good for you? Where cows and the employees are treated like machines, to get the most for the least cost... Is that raw milk safe?
- Is raw milk from a dairy that feeds their animals grain (which causes inflammation that is passed onto the milk and onto the drinker) good for you? Or where they milk cows up to three times a day, to stress them in order to squeeze everything out of them? Is that good for you?
- Is raw milk good for you from cows that are stressed from having their calves taken away from them soon after birth?
- Is milk safe and good for you, when it is taken in a hygienic way from stress-free cows, living on a proper 100% grass-fed diet and with their own calves by their sides, and cooled quickly and sold the very same day?
Raw doesn't automatically mean good or bad. The detail matters.
Is raw milk going to cover up a bad diet or previous bad decisions?
That's where most people interested in raw milk stumble. Raw milk is not a wonder solution that allows people to pollute their bodies the rest of their time. Raw milk won't magically heal.
The best quality raw milk chosen wisely from the best farms, as part of a diet rich in other nutrient-dense foods is definitely a good addition. But it is the pinnacle of a good diet, the cherry on top.
If the diet is made up of junk, and the raw milk comes from bad sources, what is expected to be achieved?
Raw milk is no longer available from us
We no longer sell raw milk. A wild mix of internet influencers with claims seeking attention, and our society's general obsession with panaceas means that people have become unhealthily obsessed with raw milk.
We are a farm for our community. Our community is interested in a varied diet that is clean (chemical free), nutrient dense and made ethically. That's why we don't just produce milk, we have a diverse farm that means you can get the most of your weekly staples with us, including eggs, cheese and other dairy, meat, and seasonal products, like fruit and honey.
Yes, our milk is clean, nutrient dense and made to the highest welfare standards that we know. Raw milk doesn't make an entire diet. And a few litres of raw milk don't cover up for bad health and diet decisions the rest of the time.
What are the alternatives, for a great diet?
As there are no wonder pills, it is about lifting the quality of the rest of the diet that will make the difference. We started the farm to help people do that.
If you like to drink milk, we make gently-pasteurised milk, which retains a lot of the enzymes vitamins and minerals of its raw equivalent. We make high-welfare yoghurt, which is easier to digest (and is better for gut health) for most people than raw or pasteurised milk. The making of yoghurt helps release lactose sugars and for beneficial bacteria to break down those irritation-causing sugars into the pro-biotic wonder of yoghurt. That needs to happen and that is always how yoghurt was made - heating milk to near boiling, long before Pasteur.
There is more to learn about diet and nutrition, and stopping at raw milk is a dead end.
And if you are still set on raw milk, we wish you the best of luck. But we do not recommend any other farms. See above as to reasons why.
As we do not sell raw milk, we do not answer questions about raw milk or colostrum.

This milk is undoubtedly better than pasteurized milk, but this milk did not satisfy me, because my experience in Bangladesh and America is not the same. When I asked my mother about this, she said that perhaps grass-fed milk does not taste the same as milk from dry grass. (Please note, this is purely my personal experience, don't take it too seriously, because I've been drinking raw milk since I was a child.)
mælken var supper lækker, fed og cremet. Lidt til den dyrere ende, men det koster hvad det er værd.
Er så glad for produktet ser frem til at bestille mere i fremtiden 🙏
Bedste mælk til dato, fantastisk smag!
Literally the best milk I've ever tasted , and it’s better for my gut then regular a1 milk from the supermarkets, and apparently I am lactose intolerant according to the doctors but I just found out that it’s the a1 protein that I can’t digest and I think a lot of people are told they’re “lactose intolerant” but in reality the issue is A1 beta-casein and not lactose itself.
